The patent-pending OraVital System is safe, easy, painless, and highly effective in the treatment of gingivitis, periodontal disease, halitosis and peri-implantitis. Here’s how it works:

Dentists or hygienists working within an OraVital Certified Clinic, conduct a thorough examination of the patient’s mouth for any visible dental problems. They will also ask the patient about their detailed medical history to document whether they have any existing medical conditions or risk factors that could be contributing to their gum disease and/or breath odor.

Next, the OraVital Certified Clinician will carefully follow the OraVital System’s five steps as they have been specially-trained to do.

1) Evaluation

The OraVital Certified Clinician will conduct multiple objective tests to determine health or disease that include biofilm disclosing, measuring periodontal pockets and recording bleeding on probing using the papillary bleeding score.

After examining the clinical results of the tests mentioned above, and the patient’s medical/dental history, the OraVital Certified Clinician may recommend microbial sampling, to accurately discern the type and concentration of the pathogen(s) causing the oral infection.

OraVital microbiological sampling is conducted in the following manner for Biofilm DNA:

Using a swab, the clinician will take samples of bacteria from around the patient’s gums, tongue, throat and saliva. These are sent to the OraVital microbiology lab, which conducts highly advanced microbial analysis to identify the specific pathogens that are causing gum disease, halitosis and potentially putting your patient at risk for a variety of medical conditions.

2) Treatment

In addition to recommended periodontal/gum care if the OraVital microbiology lab report indicates there are harmful microorganisms present in the patient’s mouth that are causing gum disease and/or breath problems, the dentist will be able to prescribe an OraVital Antibiotic rinse and an OraVital Antimicrobial Rinse that is specifically-targeted to killing the pathogens at the root of the oral infection.

This is followed by an antimicrobial rinse for another two weeks to rebalance the patient’s oral biofilms to a healthy state.

3) Re-Evaluation

Following initial treatment, the patient is recalled to re-evaluate their gums and/or breath by comparing before and after results.

4) Maintenance

Regular dental hygiene appointments and good oral home care will help the patient maintain a healthy mouth. Along with regular brushing and cleaning between the teeth, using an OraVital Maintenance Rinse daily will help the patient prevent recurring breath and gum problems.

5) Monitor

OraVital Certified Clinics schedule regular appointments with their patients to check for bleeding or other gum problems. Additional OraVital microbial testing is recommended if the patient continues experiencing gum disease or bad breath.

If harmful bacteria are increasing, oral infection could return. It’s always easier to address any potential problems before this happens.

We know your patients’ health and self-confidence are important to you! You’ll be happy to know that the OraVital System has an average clinical success rate of 85% in treating bad breath and mild to moderate gum disease.

What’s more, when used as directed by a participating OraVital Certified Clinic, these results are guaranteed.
